| Your Personal Biography |
Please allow me to briefly introduce myself: My given name is Gau Ping Liu. My English name is Sunrise, which reflects my attitude to life and my personality, as well as my passion for teaching art. I also work at the Montessori Kindergarten, and I like children very much.
I graduated from the Beijing Institute of Education in 1984, having studied Chinese calligraphy there since 1980, and having received an award from
the department for those studies in 1982. I further received awards at the 1997 and 1998 Beijing China Art Museum exhibitions for participating in the Din
Shaoguang Art Exhibition and the Exhibition of Fine Art in Beijing. From January 1997 I participated in
an exhibition held in the prestigious Beijing Qi Ran Hotel, which ran until August 1999, where I was the manager of the art gallery, taking charge of the
artistic activities including traditional Chinese painting,
oil painting, and general art and artistic activities.
From that time on I was involved in sponsored events concerning traditional Chinese painting, oil painting,
art-synthesis, and artistic activities, until the year 2001, where-upon I have devoted myself to fulltime creative pursuits until the present day.
Between the years of 1997 and 1999 I made approximately one hundred pieces, then from 2000to 2008 about one hundred abstract pieces.
