Artist Statement:
My abstractions begin with a
vision in my mind of movement
and color. When I apply the
first layer of paint, it is a
dance of emotions. I build on
that with many layers of
acrylics and gels. I want the
viewer to believe that my
vision expands beyond the
panel to a universe which I
have created.
I am heavily influenced by
forces of nature, in
particular the sky. I observe
everything in my daily life
with great detail. My
interpretation of those
observations is the force
behind the mark making in my
paintings.
I sign my paintings Hope
because, not only is it my
middle name, it truly inspires
me.
